Hello Quiet LJ commmunity! Hopefully people are still reading LJ and haven't migrated in force elsewhere. So here goes my dilemma/thought process:

I am an MLIS student who has the misfortune of having to do a research project/thesis in order to graduate from my program (I say misfortune not from a dislike of research but more because the course is a poorly planned out/designed/organized/taught Frankenstinian nightmare that administration has been trying to "fix" for five years). I am thinking of doing my project on the information seeking behavior of SCAdians. How would you suggest I approach members of the society about participating? Where would I find people to participate? I've never had to try to put together a survey and survey people before. My research has all been from databases in past.

I did a survey a couple of years ago, I still have the data if you would like it. The easiest way is to put together a survey online and post the link and request to fill out it to the usual lists and LJ, etc. communities with requests to forward...
There was a SCA food and feasts survey and some other ones done several years ago that used the same format/plan.

Yes please! That would be great. I can use the data as a comparison thing and as something to show the prof while I'm waiting for the IRB to approve my survey.
